➡Absence of reflexes;
➡Severe heart and respiratory failure.
🔹 Already in individuals with SMA Type 1, which corresponds to almost 60 % of cases of the disease, symptoms appear until the sixth month of life and include:
➡Muscle weakness;
➡Difficulty to support the neck;
➡Difficulty swallowing;
➡Respiratory problems, usually requiring the use of ventilation support;
➡ Crying and weak cough.
